Long-distance move from Falls Church, VA to Seattle, WA

Fine, but not worth the value in my opinion

Everyone at the company is pleasant to talk to - Quoter, office staff, movers. However, not worth the money IMO. I had the minimum amount of stuff to move, they said it barely fit their criteria to move since I had so few items. I moved from Washington DC to Seattle and it cost $7100.

They lost 1 item out of my 71 total items - a $200 end table. I packed everything in sturdy plastic bins since I knew it was a long move and wanted to give everything a good chance of surviving. At least 3 of the bins were totally mistreated with obvious signs of them being tossed around, it looks like they were thrown down stairs almost. The tops were cracked, sides messed up, one was so bad that the lid is no longer the same shape as the opening of a bin. One of the bins was so bad that I'm going to have to toss at least have the items in it. Another one was open with items all over the back of their shuttle truck when they arrived at drop off.

Totally doesn't seem like they cared for my stuff, I get it's a long move but damn. Overall, I guess the move went fine given how far it was and I might just be extra salty because this has been a hard move overall, but I certainly do not feel like the service I received was worth the money. I could have done it in a UHaul for $2k cheaper and doubt I'd have items missing or as badly beaten up as they were.

Long-distance move from Bridgeton, NJ to Claymont, DE

Very Bad!

Moved from Bridgeton, New Jersey to Claymont, Delaware November, 2018 through Bayshore Allied of Delaware. A “Bob” from Allied gave us an estimate of $14,000 for the move. Once the move started, we heard nothing but cursing ang complaints from the mover’s team leader, “Shane” (i.e. “Bob doesn’t know what the “F-Bomb” he is doing and this move should have cost $10,000 more). After the horrendous move, with a multitude of damaged irreplaceable and costly items, missing money, expensive men’s colognes, and a prescribed CDS medication we then found that a “team leader” gets paid per job whether it takes a day or weeks and he pays his crew. This is why we experienced a very shoddy, rushed job (i.e. using a “cardboard ramp” sliding boxes and bins down Bilco steps onto a concrete floor). This with the “team leader” prompting the crew to “hurry up.” The “independent” appraiser came 08/20/2019 since our estimate of damages was over $10,000 and I await to heard what Allied has to say which may prompt our call to another appraiser and legal support. BTW, I was also informed by Allied that there is a $500.00 deductible even though they did the damages. I have 159 photos of damaged items. Too bad I can only post two 6mb pics here.

Horribly traumatic! Never again!

The estimater, Bill, GUARANTEED they knew how to handle our many antiques - a big concern since we inherited lots of heirloom antiques from both my grandparents and my wife's family. So we went with them. Not sure it could have gone worse! Dozens of pieces of furniture broken, shattered .. dozens of boxes dropped, smashed! They eventually had some furniture repaired, but anything else they absolved themselves of any & all responsibility. So all the broken Bennington pitchers, statues, etc .. zero compensation!

Also, day of delivery they said we had a week+ to go through everything. Upon submitting long list of itemized damages, they now said "All damage must be reported same day", like we had the stomach to open all these smashed packing boxes that first night! Lies, lies, and more lies .. and they wouldn't accept ANY responsibility! Even blamed us!

After months of arguing with them, we probably got ~40% of monetary value back on thousands of dollars worth of heirlooms. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE TRUST ALLIED!

Long-distance move from Spring City, PA to Northbrook, IL

Be Careful

I recently moved from Pennsylvania to Illinois. The crews loading and unloading my goods were great.

HOWEVER two of my items were lost.

My claim was denied because I did not note it upon delivery.

If you take the insurance BE CAREFUL if anything is lost it must be noted at the time of delivery. This can be very difficult when so much is coming off the truck so quickly.

Worst experience of my life

DO NOT USE BAYSHORE! DO NOT TRUST BILL HAYWOOD!

I had the worst experience moving with Bayshore and dealing with Bill Haywood. I have moved across the country 4 times, and this was undoubtedly the worst and most stressful moving experience of my life.

Below is my experience:

My move was confirmed to pack on a Tuesday and move the following day. Even though Bayshore called me 3 times to confirm my move, I found myself waiting for 2 hours after the confirmed showtime on pack day. After calling, I could not get any help from their support; they had no idea what was going on. So, I sat in my apartment on my moving day with no update or solution. Finally, 6 hours later, they called me and said they would pack the following day. Knowing they would be unable to pack and move in a single day, I had to scramble to purchase & procure boxes and supplies to pack about half my apartment myself. Finally, after persisting 5 times with customer support, they confirmed a larger team the following day. My wife and I stayed up till 2am packing what we could, and the next day the packers and movers were barely able to finish on time (even with half the apartment already packed).

A week later, when the invoice was sent, I called Bill for an explanation and breakdown of the costs. He was unable to speak to the contract, completely blew me off, and sent me an outdated contract that was incorrect. After calling him back, he proceeded to argue with me and still could not explain the invoice because again, he was looking at an outdated copy. Finally, 2 days later, someone else was able to send me the most up-to-date contract and invoice for the move. Quite frankly, Bill Haywood is a slimy used car salesman in my opinion.

When my stuff arrived at my new destination, I had issues again. The driver was 1.5 hours late from his confirmed time. Then, he parked his massive 18-wheel truck on our narrow street and informed me the movers would show up in 15 minutes. They finally showed up 2.5 hours later. He never moved his truck and created problems on the street. Again, customer service was unhelpful delay after delay, and they could not provide me with any updates and solutions. Finally, the movers showed up and started 4 hours later than planned.

Do yourself a favor, DO NOT book with Bill Haywood or Bayshore.
